چکیده

This paper describes a versatile, robust, and parametric ball animation model that can be used in many types of interactive Virtual Reality (VR) environments. The generic model is particularly useful for animation of ball-like objects such as tennis balls, footballs, or darts, and for networked collaborative environments where low frame rates, network delays and information losses complicate collision detection of fast moving objects. The ball animation model includes a multi-level physical modeling as well as collision detection and treatment. Finally, the parameterization of typical applications is discussed.

A Realistic Video Avatar System for Networked Virtual Environments

With the advancements in collaborative virtual reality applications there is a need for representing users with a higher degree of realism for better immersion. Representing users with facial animation in an interactive collaborative virtual environment is a daunting task. This paper proposes an avatar system for a realistic representation of users. In working towards this goal, this paper will...

Interactive Simulation of Folded Paper with Breakable Hinge Springs and Fractal Surface Realtime animation of damage preserving adaptive mesh with stiff springs

There have been little efforts to animate paper objects in interactive or realtime VR environments. Paper can be represented with the well-known massspring model, whose animation is relatively easy compared with rigid body models or fluid simulation. However, animating paper with the straightforward massspring model results in a serious numerical problem. The properties of plain paper require t...

Visualization of Vehicular Traffic in Augmented Reality for Improved Planning and Analysis of Road Construction Projects

This paper describes research that investigated the application of 3D Augmented Reality (AR) for animating traffic simulation models in real time to support the planning and design of road construction projects. Traditional 3D visualization applications use Virtual Reality (VR) environments to visualize traffic simulations. The significant amount of time and human resources required to collect ...

Cloning and Aging in a VR Family

Face cloning and animation considering wrinkle formation and aging are an aspiring goal and a challenging task. This paper describes a cloning method and an aging simulation in a family. We reconstruct a father, mother, son and daughter of one family and mix their shapes and textures in 3D to get virtual persons with some variation. The idea of reconstruction of a head is to detect features fro...

Real-Time Visualization of Massive Movement Data in Digital Landscapes

Due to continuing advances in sensor technology and increasing availability of digital infrastructure that allows for acquisition, transfer, and storage of big data sets, large amounts of movement data (e.g., road, naval, or air-traffic) become available. In the near future, movement data such as traffic data may even be available in real-time. In a growing number of application fields (e.g., l...
